Our staff members have spent many years devoted to pursuing excellence in their field and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as instructors and trainers.

Through extensive training, certification and dedication, our staff has attained mastery in their fields and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to our members. Here are a few of Rolly Pollies Of Summerville's staff members:

Marka Dethier

Marka Dethier, our Director, received her commission into the United States Air Force as a distinguished graduate from the University of Florida, ROTC Detachment 150, in 1999 with a BS degree in Human Resource Development. She received her MS in Human Resource Administration from Central Michigan University in 2007. Marka served over eight years active duty as a Manpower and Personnel officer during which she became a respected leader and manager in a broad spectrum of areas to include: competitive sourcing studies, contract management, financial/resource planning processes, organizational realignments, and personnel management. Some of the highlights of her career include: the Air Force Commendation Medal with one device, and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship ribbon. Her hobbies include being a MOM (of course!), fitness, sports, viola, photography, and horses. She is a USPC H-A graduate, and has instructed and coached equestrians of all ages in dressage and jumping up to the intermediate level. Additionally, she is certified in First Aid, Infant and Child CPR, and is USA Gymnastics Safety Certified. Marka and her husband, Jason, were married in November, 1999, and now have three wonderful children of their own. Although leaving the military was a difficult decision, Marka knew that opening a Rolly Pollies Franchise would allow her the opportunity to remain committed to community and service while also providing a rewarding, challenging, and family-friendly career.

Elizabeth Cole

Elizabeth is a 2009 graduate of Fort Dorchester High School. At the present time she is going for her Associates in Science over at Trident Technical College and then will transfer to MUSC for Pediatric Nursing. In her free time she enjoys going to the gym to work out, going downtown with her friends and playing with kids. She also enjoys traveling to Ohio, New York, Rhode Island, Maryland, Virginia, and California. Most of all, she LOVES to eat!

Morgan Simpson

Morgan is a graduate of Fort Dorchester High School, and currently a student at Charleston Southern University, majoring in Graphic Design. Art and music are two of her biggest passions. She really enjoys spending time with her amazing family, friends, and dog Nala. In her free time she loves being in or near the water, whether it be the beach, lake or pool. Morgan has always loved being around children, and looks forward to having a family of her own one day.

Brittany Collins

Brittany is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelors of Science in Sport Management. She has a lifetime of experience in gymnastics. She became a gymnast at 3 years old, and continued into high school competing up to level 9. She began coaching gymnastics while still in high school, specializing in the pre-team all the way to level 9. Although she did not compete in gymnastics during college, she spent 3 collegiate years as a Diver, while coaching for a local gymnastics center as their head Level 4 coach. She hopes to one day own her own gymnastics center and work in a collegiate athletic office. While not participating in sports she enjoys singing and dancing.

Jason Dethier

Jason, our Director, his wife Marka and their three children (Lynsey, Mark, & Katy) have lived in Summerville since July 2005. After a rewarding 8 years of service in the United States Air Force, Jason decided it was time for a change. He and Marka looked for an opportunity to have a positive influence on their community while doing something they could involve their whole family in. That opportunity came in the form of a Rolly Pollies franchise. Jason looks forward to applying the expertise acquired during his military service to make Rolly Pollies of Summerville a facility and program where children can develop their athletic coordination, creative talents and social skills. Jason brings a lifelong interest in fitness, sports, and creative arts to Rolly Pollies. He has played, coached and refereed youth soccer, played trombone and baritone horn, and still enjoys drawing, running, and weightlifting.

Shelby Kitchens

"Miss Shelby" is our Lead Gym Instructor/Creative Arts Instructor. She is currently pursuing a nursing degree through Trident Tech. From there she plans to transfer to MUSC. In her free time she likes to play with her dog, going to the beach, shopping and playing soccer. Her five nieces and nephew also take up much of her spare time. When she is at Rolly Pollies, two of her favorite games are hide-and-go-seek and tag!

Gina Eisenstien

Gina Eisenstein is our Director of Dance/Lead Gym Instructor. She is a graduate of Barat College at DePaul University in Lake Forest, Illinois, receiving her B.F.A. in Dance Performance & Choreography. She has danced professionally and brings over twenty years of teaching experience. Her career began in the Midwest including Indiana, Illinois and most recently here in the lowcountry. Professional experience includes touring Europe and North America with La Danz Dancers, performing with the Young Ballet Theatre, Blue Divas as well as other various dance venues. At fifteen she was a dance scholar at the Washington D.C. School of Ballet and by nineteen a company scholar with Joseph Holmes Dance Company of Chicago.
Gina moved from Chicago to Summerville in 2002 and has been instrumental in launching several after school dance programs and camps for children in the area ever since. She is a natural fit with Rolly Pollies and has quickly earned the rank of Lead Gym Instructor. She looks forward to working with our little Rolly Pollies Gymbugs and sharing her love of dance!

Patrick Magers

Patrick Magers is our Lead Instructor. He is a 2008 graduate of Fort Dorchester HS and a 2012 graduate of the College of Charleston. He was the Teacher Cadet Student of the Year and now has a full ride to C of C as a Teaching Fellows working toward a degree in Early Elementary Education. He has volunteered with elementary-age children for several years and plans on becoming a Kindergarten teacher upon graduation. His hobbies include foam pit burrowing, playing monster with the kids, and taking long walks on the beach at sunset.

Christian Eisenstein

Christian currently attends Ashley Ridge High School and will be a graduate of Class 2012. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer with his friends, reading, and hanging out with his two brothers. His favorite Rolly Pollies pastime is playing “Shark” with the kids in the foam pit. Christian also loves pizza and helping kids to have the most possible fun during their time here at Rolly Pollies! His short-term goal is choosing the right college, but for now he is focused on good grades and looks forward to his weekend job!

Kristen Hilton

Miss Kristen is a 2009 Graduate of University of South Carolina receiving her degree in Music Education having maintained a Life Scholarship for four years at the school. Among her many accomplishments are : making the 2009 President’s List, Squad Leader in the USC Marching Band and making the Fall 2008 Dean’s List. Kristen brings to Rolly Pollies her love of music and teaching young children new skills. As our Music Director, she offers her growing expertise in educating young children through rhythm, motion, instrumentation and song. Miss Kristen is also a Lead gym and Preschool JAM instructor and loves helping children achieve their social, physical and educational milestones at Rolly Pollies!
